Question by PhysicsDummy: Would SBEC(Texas) deny my state board educato certificate if you have a bounced check on your criminal record?
I have a Class B Misdemeanor on my record (from June of 1993) for “Theft by Check.” The original Check was for $ 3.25 and they added a $ 25.00 NSF fee onto it and now it’s over $ 20.00 so it’s considered a Class B Misdemeanor. AT the time my parents went and paid the $ 28.75 to the District Attorney’s Office and the warrant for my arrest went away. Would that on my background criminal record prevent me from obtaining my State Board of Education Certificate to teach?

It certainly is possible. However, no stranger on Yahoo Answers is going to know what prompted the State Board to deny your application. You need to ask them.
